Trail Flow (Ridden Direction)
Trailforks scans users ridelogs to determine the most popular direction each trail is ridden. A good flowing trail network will have most trails flowing in a single direction according to their intension.
The colour categories are based on what percentage of riders are riding a trail in its intended direction.

SaveSage Hills is the name for the local trails in the immediate foothills of Wenatchee. Combined with the Horse Lake Preserve trails this area offers 20+ miles of rolling singletrack on a combination of purposely built mountain bike trails and older hiking trails. In the spring this area has some of the best riding and wildflower viewing in the state. Most of the trails are green and blue with only a few technical sections on a few trails.
This area gets hot in the summer so avoid middle-of-the-day rides. There is a new trailhead named Kenzie's Landing that has the only source of water in the trail system.
Trails open to horses on June 15th.
Seasonal Closure: Every winter the PUD and land trust properties in the trails are closed from December 1 to April 1. In winter, mule deer move down into these areas at a time when they are nearly starving, they can ill afford the calorie expenditure needed to avoid people and pets

There are five main entry points into Sage Hills/Horse Lake, none of which require a parking pass:
Sage Hills Drive - There is a gravel parking lot at the top of 5th St. with room for about 10 cars. Overflow parking should avoid parking on streets that do not have curbs. From the parking lot it's a short 1/4 mile to the Lester Trailhead.
Day Drive - This is a small parking lot for about 5 cars that has a gate that closes at night. The neighbors do not want an street parking and have made it obvious with a bevy of signs. This parking lot is higher than Sage Hills Drive and avoids the initial climb into the trail system and is a good spot to start with small children.
Kenzie's Landing - Just opened in April of 2023, this parking lot has about 12 parking spots, including ADA and electric vehicle charging. It also has a bathroom and water for people and pups. Please be conscious of the neighborhood and don't speed when entering/exiting.
Horse Lake Trailhead - This is a large parking lot at the top of Horse Lake Road with room for 20+ cars and plenty of overflow parking on the side of the county road. This is a great spot to park with easy access to a handful of great trails and the Old Ranch Road, which climbs up in the middle of the trail system. This is a great spot to take beginning riders and kids who are learning to ride on dirt but also provides access to the best trails in the system for intermediate riders.
