Trail Flow (Ridden Direction)
Trailforks scans users ridelogs to determine the most popular direction each trail is ridden. A good flowing trail network will have most trails flowing in a single direction according to their intension.
The colour categories are based on what percentage of riders are riding a trail in its intended direction.

Save-All trail closed for the 24/25 winter season-
Sherburne Trails:
The first two loops out of the parking lot, Mind Eraser and Pacas Path, are introductory and beginner terrain geared for all riders small to tall, young to old. Ohly Roller is an intermediate trail which rides differently depending on the direction you are riding. Come out and enjoy the beautiful woods of Vermont with a mountain Pond View for a reward. Please park in the Sherburne Trails parking lot and be respectful to the trails in wet conditions
Base Camp:
The new Base Camp trail project is now complete. Although we will still be tweaking and changing zones as we can. It has 3 different loops, the Base Camp Loop (new and improved), Betty Trail, and Hutchins Hill Trail. The style of trail is traditional rake and ride technical single track. There are double track routes within the loops to create a shorter way out if needed. All three loops ride best counterclockwise, but if you want more of an uphill challenge, ride them clockwise. Please park at Base Camp Outfitters. Maps will be available soon
The Archie Baker Trail was built by the one and only Rosie. It is a one way technical trail with rock features that will test your skill. Always pre ride the trail before trying any features.
TBR (Thundering Brook Road) trail is complete and is a fun flowy run from the Base Camp parking lot into the TBR Rock and onto Betty Trail or to Pesky Cairn
Gifford Woods State Park:
The Pesky Cairn was completed in the Fall of 2019 and is riding great. This is a flowy trail in nature and is the start of a larger overall project. It is a lolly pop loop that will finish where it starts and is family friendly. -New Trail- Sherburner is now open and is the newest trail to the network. Make sure to ride it the correct direction so you have the best experience.
-State Park Update-
This summer, the Pesky Cairn Connector Trail, which has bypassed the main entrance of Gifford Woods State Park and provided access to both the Pesky Cairn and Sherburner Trails, will be closed due to construction at the park maintenance building. Beginning on June 15, all trail users will be required to travel through the main park entrance and consistent with Vermont Forest Parks and Recreation (FPR) policy, will be required to hold either a day or season pass to access the fee-controlled area.
In recognition of KMBC's role in developing and maintaining trails in the Park, all current KMBC members can obtain a Day Use Season Pass to Gifford Woods at no cost. KMBC members must visit the Park office during business hours with proof of KMBC membership, either as a primary or add-on VMBA chapter (a screenshot of the VMBA add works great) to receive their Season Pass.
KMBC plans to break ground this year on a new project that will provide access to the trails outside of the fee-controlled area of the Park and forego the need to enter through Gifford Woods.

This is a decision of the State Park. KMBC will not benefit from the day-use fees collected by the Park.
