SaveSoldier Hollow Nordic Center is home to world class groomed cross country ski trails in the winter and an increasing number of bike trails in the summer. There are perhaps 12 miles of singletrack and counting. The venue is used for many events including an I cup, Bikefest, and usually at least two NICA races a year. Trails used for events tend to be well beaten in and the less frequently ridden can get a bit overgrown, though there is a clearing and brushing schedule. The trails are well set up for a counterclockwise loppet though to do Abandon Ship you are looking at doing Petie's climb twice. To see it all, recommend going up the bird, doing Upper Hollow loop, coming down the hollow doubletrack, going up Peties Climb, down Timpview Downhill (both of these are the upper soldier hollow loop), on to Timpview Extension, Lodge Loops, Shred Dog, JK Spin and back to the lodge on Bradley Express. Use care if you see a guided Rocky Mountain Outfitters (horseback riding) group which use their own trails but get close to JK spin and Timpview Extension.
