SaveThe Sope Creek Trails at the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area are multi-use trails which allow mountain biking. The trails are just under 7 miles long and are directional by day. Check the sign at the entrances to determine which way to ride each day, clockwise or counter clockwise. The trail is laid out as a figure 8, with an upper and lower loop and a bidirectional connector in the middle, check the map below.
These trails are shared with multiple users, are heavily used and are some of the busiest in the Southeast. There is a speed limit of 10 mph and you must yield to all other users as per Park regulations.
Because of the heavy use, it is Park regulation that the trails close to bikes 24 hours after a rain. Check the status on our website, on Twitter or on Facebook before you get in your car to ride the trails. We watch the rain for you
