      Sørmarka er det største sammenhengende friområdet i Stavanger. Det ligger i bydelene Hillevåg og Hinna.
      Sørmarka ligger ca. 4 km sør for Stavanger sentrum og dekker et areal på ca. 1 500 dekar fra Ullandhaug og sørover. I nord dominerer Ullandhaug, som med 139 m over havet er høyest i Stavanger. På toppen står landemerket Ullandhaugtårnet. I den sørlige delen er Hinnaberget høyeste punkt, med 112 meter over havet. Den åpne Hinnamarka ligger lengst sør i området. Omkring skogen ligger en blanding av jordbrukslandskap og boligområder. Motorveien E39 mellom Stavanger og Sandnes deler skogen, selv om veien går delvis i tunnel gjennom området.

      Sørmarka is the largest continuous recreation area in Stavanger. It is located in the districts of Hillevåg and Hinna.
      Sørmarka is located approx. 4 km south of Stavanger city center and covers an area of ca 1,500 acres from Ullandhaug and to the south. In the north, Ullandhaug dominates, which with 139 m above sea level is the highest in Stavanger. At the top is the landmark Ullandhaugtårnet. In the southern part, Hinnaberget is the highest point, with 112 meters above sea level. The open Hinnamarka is located furthest south in the area. Around the forest is a mixture of agricultural landscapes and residential areas. The E39 motorway between Stavanger and Sandnes divides the forest, although the road partly runs in a tunnel through the area.
