SaveThese trails have been closed by the locals, lots of tree's felled on one downhill and a 'foot traffic only' sign on the climb. The Speakeasy trails will be missed by all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Speakeasy Trails currently has about 5 miles of trail tucked away in a public hunting area of Shannondale in Jefferson County, West Virginia. It derives its name from the moonshine themed street names of the surrounding streets as you approach the small parking area on Moonshine Lane. The climb to the top is moderately difficult with a few really difficult spots. Once you reach the top, you will encounter a huge rock feature with many lines to include a 5 foot drop, or 5 foot rock face roller. From here the trail continues to deliver plenty of rowdiness, drops, rock gardens and the like. Beyond that there is a jump line trail that has three, 20 plus foot gap jumps and one table top. The jump trail bisects the main loop and is therefore not part of the main loop. Bring a friend and just cruise the jumps if you like. The last trail of the loop spits you back out onto Moonshine Lane fire road. It is fast and furious and has a little kicker jump over a fallen tree that will send you a good 30 feet with the right speed. Be sure to be aware of West Virginia hunting seasons so you can prepare accordingly. Obviously dont ride too early, or in the evening during (deer) rifle season.
