Over 600 acres in the original Mukluk Preserve and the more recently acquired Watson Preserve. Trails, a dirt road, access to the Shetuckut River (trout management area requires a tout stamp) and hunting is permitted so wear appropriate clothing. Better yet, I would avoid the area in deer season from the number of hunting stands in the forest.
ATVs and motorized bikes prohibited. Closed at sunset and gates are locked. Please respect the private property adjacent to the preserve.

      Access Info:
Holton road (dead end) off Route 207. There is a sign at a sharp turn to the left pointing towards a dirt road that leads to a parking area at a cabin for the Mukluk Preserve. Continue on Holton Road and look for a parking area with a kiosk for the main trailheads of the Watson parcel on the left before the house at the end of the road.
      Disclaimer:
Hunting is permitted so wear safety colors during hunting season.
