SaveLocated within the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area, this 2,837 acre conservation area contains relatively undisturbed examples of upland and wetland forests, mountain meadows, and rare plant populations. Old growth forests appear in two forms: noble fir on the slopes of Table Mountain and old growth cedar in a wetland mosaic in Greenleaf Basin. The largest known population of Howell's daisy, a state-threatened plant endemic to the Columbia Gorge, is found on Table Mountain. Habitat for wildlife abounds, from mountain lion, bear and deer, to osprey and bald eagles. The NRCA's two peaks provide spectacular views of Mount Adams, Mount Hood, and the Columbia River Gorge. The Pacific Crest Trail traverses the western portion of the site.
