SaveThe Village of Thornhill, midway between Jeffrey's Bay and Port Elizabeth, is home to the 3Rivers Trail Network.
With a great network of MTB trails already existing at J-Bay Bike Park, Sunnyvale/Bluegums/Crossways Farms and Woodridge – the idea was born to link all these existing trails in the Thornhill area to provide riders of every level with a variety of unlimited world-class trails, not only for mountain-biking, but also for trail-running and hiking. In addition to this, the vision of 3Rivers Trails is to support the development and promotion of the fast-expanding Thornhill area, and provides some very necessary job-creation in the area.
3Rivers Trails was envisioned by two local farmers Brett & Grant Puttergill and Didier Duc, a Swiss National who immigrated to South Africa in October 2011 to settle in Thornhill. All three are very passionate about Mountain Biking and have developed their own tracks over the years. The same passion, the same motivation and the same vision guided them into the creation of 3Rivers Trails.
J-Bay Bike Park (est. 2012), Sunnyvale Trails (est. 2006) and Woodridge Trails (est. 199
, are all well known by the enthusiastic mountain bikers for the quality XCO courses, especially since Provincials & Nationals XCO was organized with great success in the past. The Longmore Plantation (MTO) is accessed through the 3Rivers Trails and the permits issued by 3Rivers Trails allow access to the trails in the Longmore Forest.
