Trail Flow (Ridden Direction)
Trailforks scans users ridelogs to determine the most popular direction each trail is ridden. A good flowing trail network will have most trails flowing in a single direction according to their intension.

The trails at the University of Maine Orono are a well enjoyed resource for class weary students looking for a mental break as well as area mountain bikers, hikers, snowshoers and x-country skiiers.

In all the 2000 acres of open space abut the campus. The 1650 acre Dwight B. Demeritt Forest making up the majority of that. It's estimated that 35,000 to 50,000 people enjoy these trails every year.

Why? Well, the trails consist of singletracks, doubletracks, old logging drag paths and a few dirt roads. A variety of trails suitable for all levels of riders. More than 15 miles of trails in all.

While there are many places to access the trails, (check the map), I've chosen the New Balance Student Recreation Center as a starting point as it's centrally located.
