Weipa is a remote mining town on Cape York Peninsula, in far northern Australia. The population in the area is approximately 3500 and this would include the small communities of Napranum and Mapoon.
The region around Weipa consists of mining lease, Aboriginal Shire Council, pastoral leases and Crown Land. There is limited variation in the terrain around Weipa. It is basically forested flat country with intersecting creek lines and lots of bush tracks and fence lines. There are not many active mountain bikers in the area but many people do a lot of bush camping, four wheel driving, quad biking, fishing and hunting.
      Primary Trail Type: Cross-Country
      Shuttleable: YES
