SaveWest Bragg Creek is a day use area in Kananaskis Country, a 45 min drive southwest of Calgary, Alberta and ~10 km west of the charming hamlet of Bragg Creek. Here Bragg Creek Trails (BCT) builds and maintains some 166 km of multi-use trails in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The terrain is mostly gentle and rolling and the forest is a mix of aspen and evergreens which has been logged in places, opening up many lovely vistas. Creeks, springs and wetlands add variety to the landscape. All trails are well marked with trail markers and maps at major intersections, making it virtually impossible to get lost.
The West Bragg Creek summer trail network was developed by a unique collaboration among all user groups; including hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers. These volunteer groups have come together to help fundraise and build this incredible network of trails, adding to the already popular winter trail network. A HUGE thank you goes out to Bragg Creek Trails Association for all the effort this group has put into creating and maintaining these amazing trails. If you’ve not had the chance to explore the vast network of trails, then you’re in for a treat.
