SaveThe Somerbosch riding area is located on the Wine Farm: Somerbosch, located midway between Stellenbosch and Somerset West along the R44 route. It is one of the oldest and most popular trail heads to the trail network of the Winelands Cycling Club. The Somerbosch Bistro is a favourite meeting place for both cyclists and friends before and after rides. It is the ideal spot from which to explore the club's trail network located west and east of the R44 route.
The Somerbosch riding area is family friendly and host a fabulous set of fairly flat and fast single tracks called Ella's Arrival (IMBA Green), Khoi Kronkel (IMBA Green) and The River Ramble (IMBA Blue). The rest of the trails are on farm vineyard roads and is a mixture of rolling hills and flat sections.
A dedicated Wine Lands Trail Running trail starts at the Somerbosch Bistro parking area. No cycling is permitted on the Trail Running trail. No pets allowed.
Trial access is a privilege generously allowed by valued property owners - we don't pay for access. Please treat property owners and their employees with respect. Remain strictly on the marked and mapped trails only. Day-time riding only. If you need a bike light, you shouldn't be on the trails. Violators will lose access. The ride area is on a working farm and farm vehicles have right of way at all times.
