Feb 01, 2023 Thumb Butte Loop Road Trail Report

This comment relates to the whole ride up from the Sherwood Neighborhood to the Sierra Prieta overlook. Once the pavement ends, it is very wet and muddy with patches of slushy snow. Once you pass the big juniper, it is snow covered with limited exposed patches. It is a mixture of packed snow, icy packed snow and slushy packed snow. There are areas on the ride where there is little to no traction. Be careful and take it easy coming down. It's very easy to lose control of your front wheel.
