Ruta BTT con inicio en la localidad segoviana de Honrubia de la Cuesta. Iniciamos la marcha en la plaza mayor del pueblo siguiendo las marcas orientativas, el trazado avanza por caminos pedregosos pero amplios y en buen estado.

Salimos del municipio y vamos dejando atrás un ecosistema de ribera a nuestra izquierda. En este primer tramo avanzamos en paralelo al arroyo Civijón, acompañados de chopos y rosales silvestres.

Llegados al municipio de Villalvilla de Montejo iniciaremos el camino de regreso.

Honrubia de la Cuesta es un ejemplo, como todos los pueblos de la comarca, de la España vaciada, donde su escasa población es el reflejo de la dureza del clima y del atractivo paisaje, sinuoso y pedregoso, que surca el municipio.

Su pertenencia a la denominación de origen Ribera del Duero ha marcado el paisaje en las últimas décadas, alternando las pequeñas explotaciones familiares con grandes áreas de cultivo de la vid.

Esta tradición vitivinícola familiar se puede apreciar en la multitud de bodegas, unas excavadas bajo las casas y otras cuyas entradas se pueden ver dando un paseo por sus calles.

Villalvilla de Montejo está históricamente vinculada al territorio del Casuar, junto al río Riaza. Las referencias escritas desde el siglo X cuentan que el primer conde castellano, Fernán González, donó el territorio de Covasuar al monasterio de San Pedro de Arlanza, que un siglo después se levantó la ermita hoy en ruinas y que más tarde pasó a pertenecer al rey de Castilla como lugar de realengo, es decir, directamente dependiente de la corona al margen de los señores feudales de la zona.

04.Honrubia de la Cuesta is a 10 mile less popular easy route located near Riaza. This mountain bike primary route can be used one direction and has a easy overall physical rating. This route climbs 1,087 ft with a max elevation of 3,719 ft then descends -1,091 ft.
