ruta 05
La ruta nos lleva a un descenso junto a los cortados de las Peñas de Santa María. El primer tramo de la ruta se deshace en el retorno ya que es ciclable en ambos sentidos. Senda muy rocosa con tramos compactos y un tramo llamado “el Despeñaperros” donde se pone a prueba nuestra habilidad con la técnica del “culo atrás”. Es la típica ruta en la que tras los primeros repechos comienzas bajando y después te toca subir para volver al punto de inicio, pero realmente vale la pena.

COSAS QUE DEBES SABER:
* Puedes enlazar esta ruta con la de Peñarroya y crear lo que llamamos un “rutonaco”.
* Algunos tramos pasan cerca de grandes cortados, así que cuidado con los despistes o intentar hacer cosas que te vayan grandes. No apta para gente con vértigo.
* Las vistas sobre el barranco del río Rubielos son impresionantes y merece la pena hacer alguna que otra paradita para hacer fotos o simplemente disfrutar.
* La llegada a Olba tiene el paso más complicado de la ruta con un “culo atrás” sobre un filo de cuchillo un poco expuesto.
* Al igual que en la senda de Los Ibañez, tienes la opción de regresar a Fuentes por asfalto, pero no es tan divertido.

05 Peñas de Sta.María is a 7 mile popular intermediate route located near La Monzona. This mountain bike primary route. This route includes 5 trails. This route climbs 1,371 ft with a max elevation of 3,246 ft then descends -1,362 ft.
