Esta ruta realiza todo el descenso del Valle del Esperabán en su integridad, desde las cotas más altas en el Puerto de los Corrales hasta la localidad de Pinofranqueado pasando por las alquerías de Erías, Castillo, Robledo y Muela. Debido a las características del itinerario es una ruta adecuada para hacerla con un servicio complementario de remonte asistido.

Esta ruta recorre en su gran mayoría el conocido como “Camino Real” es decir, el sendero que servía de vía de comunicación principal a todo el Valle del Esperabán, por tanto, esta es la tónica en esta ruta: su elevado porcentaje de recorrido por sendero.

Desde el Puerto de los Corrales hasta Erías se comparte recorrido con la ruta 5. Desde Erías se continúa el descenso del valle hacia la alquería de Castillo, hasta que en el punto donde se encuentran los petroglifos del “Tesito de los Cuchillos” junto al espectacular meandro que dibuja el río Esperaban, se enlaza con las rutas 3 y 4 con las que se comparte trazado hasta Castillo.

El tramo entre las alquerías de Castillo y Robledo continúa íntegramente por sendero, un espectacular trazado siguiendo el curso del río Esperabán. A mitad de camino se pasa por la piscina natural de Avellanar, un lugar excepcional para darse un baño si haces la ruta en primavera o verano, no obstante, todas las alquerías disponen de su propia piscina natural, por lo que las opciones de baño se multiplican.

Desde la alquería de Robledo se continúa por el sendero hacia Muela y desde aquí la parte final hasta la localidad de Pinofranqueado donde dispones de todos los servicios. En esta última parte del recorrido la pendiente se suaviza y los desniveles son menores.

06. Esperabán Trail is a 13 mile moderately popular red route located near Horcajo. This mountain bike primary route can be used one direction and has a moderate overall physical rating. This route includes 5 trails. This route climbs 1,126 ft with a max elevation of 3,990 ft then descends -3,637 ft.
