Los pastos de altura del entorno de Santa Bárbara, el monte situado al oeste de Roncal, son los más importantes del municipio. La pista de Santa Bárbara, que asciende allí y comunica con el puerto de Laza, es la más conocida del término. Es una subida dura y en su mayor parte por la cara norte del monte, por lo que puede tener nieve y barro en invierno. En esta ruta subiremos hasta la punta de Santa Bárbara para luego descender hacia el sur por dos senderos muy distintos: el primero (Txitxarena) por una cresta muy empinada y el segundo, mucho más llano, pasando por las zonas de Anzkalarra y Errigorria. Un recorrido muy variado, con rampas fuertes de subida y algunos pasos técnicos de bajada, sobre todo en su primer tramo.
