Start from the parking lot near marina Nautica along the coast heading towards Kastanija then turn right towards Mareda. From Mareda turn right towards Fermići to the main road which we pass on the unpaved trails riding near vineyards and olive groves. Pass Fiorini and continue on the right to Kršin and Bužinija. In Bužinija take the main road (direction Novigrad) and after 150 m turn right to Paolija and Velika Stancija. Ride on the unpaved trails to the road towards Hotel Maestral. Pass the hotel and continue to Novigrad.

What to visit The stage starts from the wonderful small fisherman’s town of Novigrad which is located on Istria’s west coast. It stands out amongst the numerous Istrian towns for its unique natural beauties, rich cultural heritage and the kind-heartedness of its inhabitants. Novigrad’s historic town centre is located on an island which was connected to the mainland in the 18th century. The partially conserved medieval town fortification walls are one of the most interesting symbols of this tourist destination. The bell tower of St. Pelagius church on the main town square was built on the model of St. Mark’s bell tower in Venice, and the view of the city from its top is breathtaking. Novigrad also homes the permanent installation of Austrian-Hungarian navy called the Gallerion which offers a vast collection of nautical exhibits that are well worth seeing.
The route follows the coast all the way to Mareda, where we turn on dirt roads that wind through picturesque vineyards and olive groves, taking us through Fiorini, Kršin, Bužinija, Paolija and Velika Stancija.

Before arriving to Novigrad you shouldn’t miss the tasting parlour of the olive oil producer Babić and experience its magical world of scent and taste where you can try many various types of extra virgin olive oil. In case you get hungry along the route, we recommend visiting the fish restaurant Giovanni located in St.Roželo near hotel Maestral. On our way back to Novigrad we stop either at Rivarela or under the city walls to enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets on this part of the Adriatic. After the return to Novigrad, we suggest a glass of excellent wine in coffee & wine bar Vitriol, a light meal in one of selected fish restaurants Sidro or the tavern Tabasco.
