La ruta se inicia en el mirador del “Lombo las Viñas”, para llegar aquí se debe seguir el track que la ruta 7 realiza en su último bucle. Esta ruta recorre todo el paraje conocido como “Lombo de las Viñas” y sirve para enlazar las rutas del sector del valle del río Esperabán con el sector del valle del río Malvellido.

El recorrido comienza desde el camino que parte, en fuerte pendiente de ascenso, desde el mirador. Asciende todo el paraje del “Madroñal de las cuevas” hasta enlazar con la pista forestal superior, cruzarla y continuar por el sendero que discurre junto a la talanquera de madera.

El sendero continúa dando toda la vuelta a la loma, cruza el cortafuegos que discurre por la divisoria de aguas entre los valles del Esperabán y Malvellido y cruza, de nuevo, otra pista forestal. Continúa atravesando unos cultivos de castaño y vuelve a cruzar otro cortafuegos, atraviesa una vaguada y por último realiza un vertiginoso descenso hasta la alquería de El Gasco, en la cabecera del angosto valle del río Malvellido.

Esta última bajada es por un sendero muy vertical, en un zig-zag continuo que, con un total de 47 curvas nos lleva a la entrada de El Gasco.

08. Lombo las Viñas Trail is a 6 mile moderately popular black route located near Horcajo. This mountain bike primary route can be used one direction and has a extreme overall physical rating. This route includes 3 trails. This route climbs 1,602 ft with a max elevation of 3,997 ft then descends -2,102 ft.
