Esta ruta lineal sirve para conectar la red de rutas del destino “Hurdes Trails” entre Pinofranqueado, Caminomorisco y Nuñomoral. Debido a las características del itinerario es una ruta adecuada para hacerla con un servicio complementario de remonte asistido.

La ruta se inicia junto al polideportivo de Pinofranqueado dirigiéndose hacia la alquería de Mesegal intercalando tramos de pista forestal y sendero. De Mesegal va hacia Caminomorisco por caminos a través de un mosaico agroforestal de olivos y zonas de pinar.

Caminomorisco se cruza por la travesía principal siguiendo el trazado de la carretera, al final del trazado urbano se toma un camino que sale a la izquierda y ya, en continuo ascenso a través de olivares nos lleva a la alquería de Huerta. Desde esta alquería se inicia el recorrido por la “Vereda del Correo” conocida así por el recorrido que realizaba el cartero para llevar el correo desde Caminomorisco hasta Nuñomoral.

La senda se dirige hacia la alquería de Cambrón descendiendo, antes de llegar a esta alquería, al puente y el Centro de Interpretación del Agua ubicado en el antiguo molino junto al Arroyo Cambrón. Desde esta alquería se inicia un ascenso de 5,4 kilómetros por pista forestal que nos lleva hasta el Collado de la Genera (1.135 m.) en la divisoria de aguas entre el Valle de los Ángeles y el Valle del Malvellido.

Como recompensa a la subida queda una bajada por sendero, siguiendo el trazado de la “Verea del Correo” de 2,6 kilómetros, hasta llegar al embalse de Arrocerezal donde se puede enlazar con la ruta 9. Por último, se bordea el embalse por la margen derecha y otro tramo de 2 kilómetros por sendero nos lleva hasta la alquería de Cerezal, final de la ruta.

14. Correo Trail is a 15 mile moderately popular red route located near Horcajo. This mountain bike primary route can be used one direction and has a hard overall physical rating. This route includes 12 trails. This route climbs 3,687 ft with a max elevation of 3,707 ft then descends -3,685 ft.
