Il percorso prende l'avvio dall'inizio della Pista Azzurra e prevede un breve tratto su un agevole sterrato all'ombra di faggi ed abeti, fino a raggiungere la strada asfaltata di Montalto. Da qui si procederà in discesa sempre seguendo la strada asfaltata, fino a raggiungere il bivio conosciuto come “Fragolara” e rientrare quindi a Gambarie. La quasi totalità del percorso è in discesa, all'ombra e su asfalto, il che lo rende particolarmente semplice, seppur da affrontare con tutte le cautele del caso, attraversando comunque zone di particolare pregio dal punto di vista naturalistico.
