Due to historic snowpack this year, Epic Rides has modified the Capitol 50 experience for the 2nd Annual Carson City Off-Road. You will negotiate dozens of fun and challenging lower elevation singletrack winding along the east slope of the Sierra Nevada only a couple miles from downtown Carson City. Threading along from King's Canyon Road to the Ash to King's Trail, riders receive payback on the long and grin-producing descent into lower Ash Canyon. Riders descending on Deer Run, Postal Route and Jackrabbit Trail, finishing your first lap by riding through downtown loaded with cheering spectators. Speeding south from downtown, riders will then tackle a formidable 900 vertical foot climb up C-Hill on their second lap. The deceptively named EZ Trail climb has numerous technical features and a couple punchy sections that will surely elevate the heartrate. Then after a short descent, riders will loop back into the Ash to King's trail again, repeating the first loop. Capitol 50 riders will return to downtown crossing the start/finish area and proceed for an encore of the C-Hill and EZ Trail climb lap. The Capitol 50 concludes upon completion of the third and final lap.

Recent Trail Reports Along Route

Ash Canyon to Kings Canyon Trail
Dec 11, 2017 @ 8:18am
Dec 11, 2017
Rode Saturday 10-9-17 and the road up was good with a little water and snow on it. Once on the single track, most of the shaded areas had slight snow/ice but was still rideable. Anything in the sun or south aspects was muddy and wet. Great ride as always though, highly recommend early mornings while the ground is still frozen.
