NOTHING about this is "official". Race directors have indicated that, barring the unforeseen, the 2018 course will be the same as 2017. THE ROUTE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT THE RACE DIRECTOR'S DISCRETION.
PARKING
We will be using the public lots in Cable. When you park in Cable, do not park on city streets, park in the public lot behind the school.
MORNING REGISTRATION
Look for the Terrene Tires tents in the River’s Eatery parking lot to get your number plate on race morning. Race morning registration will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:50 AM. This is a pretty narrow window of time for a lot of racers, so it is advisable to get your number Friday night if possible.
DROP BAGS
You will receive a Ziploc bag with your number palte and other items, and it is your drop bag for the 100 mile riders. All of your drop items for the checkpoint must fit into this Ziploc, or it will be refused. On race morning, you will be directed to put your Ziploc into the back of a truck for transport to the checkpoint. There are no drop bags for the 70 or 30 mile course.
RACE START
The 100 mile race will start at 7 AM on Randysek Road in Cable. The 70 mile course will start at 8 AM, and the 30 mile course will start at 9am in Cable at the same place.
COURSE
The course will be marked with tape and arrows. The trails are open to the public, and the roads are open and in use by cars. Because of this, not all intersections can be fully taped, and you must ride alert and be aware of your surroundings at all times. GPX Files will be announced and available for download on Thursday after our final course verification. We will also have hand-out maps this year.
THERE IS ACTIVE LOGGING ON SEVERAL AREAS OF THE COURSE, AND DUE TO THAT, THERE MAY BE RE-ROUTES. THERE IS STILL CLEANUP OPERATIONS FROM THE LARGE WIND STORM LAST YEAR KNOCKING DOWN MORE THAN A HUNDRED TREES ON VARIOUS SPOTS OF THE COURSE. THERE MAY BE TREES DOWN ON COURSE.
WATER
There is water available at Hatchery Creek checkpoint on the 100 mile course. It is the only tested and reliable water source on the course. There are water sources at the Namekagon Town Hall, Telemark Resort and Highway 00 road crossing, but they are not guaranteed to be on, or tested, so use them at your own risk.
