PLEASE NOTE: Larrabee State Park is extremely popular with families hiking, dog walkers and equestrians, so please be extra courteous to all trail users while practicing for the enduro. Also, Cleator Road is open to the public, so always expect vehicle traffic on it.

Lite Course:
1. Double Black
7. Two Dollar

Transition 1:
From Larrabee campground, follow the signs and go directly across Chuckanut Drive and up to the Interurban Trail. Go RIGHT on the Interurban trail and then go LEFT (up) towards Fragrance Lake Road next to the sewage ponds. NOTE: You can either take the trail next to the sewer plant or go through the Clayton Beach/Lost Lake parking lot and go LEFT through the gate.
Stay straight on Fragrance Lake Road and keep going PAST (left) one split in the road and also past the Fragrance Lake turnoff until you hit Cleator Road. Then, turn RIGHT on Cleator road and climb up to the Cyrus Gates Overlook parking lot. There is a quick push up on the LEFT side of the parking lot (directly across from the viewpoint) that goes to the top of Double Black Diamond.

Stage 5: Double Black
From the top of the mountain, go down (riders RIGHT) the Top of Double Black Diamond. Just before the exit, go LEFT at the Y on a newly routed section that crosses Lost lake Trail. Follow this section down to Fragrance Lake Road.

Transition 2:
At Fragrance Lake Road turn right and head back up. Stay straight on Fragrance Lake Road and keep going PAST (left) one split in the road and continue up to Fragrance Lake. Go left through the split rail fencing and take an immediate right towards Fragrance Lake. Before reaching the lake, go left and across the wooden boardwalk. Follow that trail above the lake and take the next left up a short climb. The start will be at the intersection where this climb flattens out.

Stage 7 – Two Dollar Trail
The stage will start at the intersection to the Fragrance Lake on the more established section of the Two Dollar Trail. Racers will finish after the last RIGHT hand switchback just before reaching the Cleator Road.
Transition 2:
From the bottom of Two Dollar Trail, go LEFT (Down) Cleator Road. Please use Caution. Towards the bottom you will take the Interurban Trail back to Larrabee. PLEASE USE CAUTION DESCENDING CLEATOR ROAD.

Trail Two Dollar
If you are climbing up the Cleator Road, and intend to link this up to get up to Double Black, ride the Fragrance Lake loop, and avoid the full Two Dollar- it will climb up and along a cliff with many hiking sections, and waste your time. It was cool to see- kind of an adventure- but I wouldn’t do it again. If have time constraints, better to pedal up from the lost lake parking lot and just be done with it.

I tried to ride it but there’s a lot of downed trees and the initial approach is far more Advanced than intermediate

Really Double Down is the 'double black' trail between the two, if anything. Double Down is a legit solid black anywhere in the world, with some expert features. Double Black trail was easier- both are fun with some tech, roots, drops, good dirt.

Meh. As recommended we rode the upper trail to Galen’s (Galen’s was fun but short) got back on the lower section and much like the upper section was some long flattish bits with some rooty techy xc… if that’s your jam you’ll live this trail. The area is beautiful.

I had a blast on this trail! I would consider it a must do if you seek out gnarly trails, enjoy adventure rides, and have the skills to clean it. I think other black trails should feel like a walk in the park for you to fully enjoy this one. I think it’s a lot harder to get down this trail clean than it is to do the same on double down. It’s somewhere in between downhill and XC. That said, it’s a riot when you nail the right line and carry your momentum through a web of massive diagonal roots or clean one of the rock lines! I made the mistake of taking galens step down and skipping the middle. That felt like a waste of time and elevation. I’d rather pick my way down the ridge and walk a few sections if need be.

Trials riding skills needed to ride this trail clean! More hike a bike sections than you can count riding North going (down) feels like you do as much up as down! Once again if you are a Trials rider, love really technical almost un-rideable trail that goes up and down in little short steep parts this trail is for you. Even as a hiking trail its silly. Why always stick to the top of the ridge about 30 bypasses around the million little ups along the ridge crest are needed to make this a fun trail. If you love hike a bike this is your trail.

Were you climbing? It is a climb trail and will take about 25 min to reach the lake. As far as down, I see quite a few CX bikes on it.

Trail Two Dollar
The section by Fragrance Lake is silly- you can just take the lake loop to bypass and the rest of 2 Dollar is wide buffed cross country trail. Rolling with sporadic climbs peppered in. The highlights include views of the lake, a big waterfall you pass, and coastal views popping out. Not the funnest trail, but a decent fitness ride for people who wanna avoid technical trail and just enjoy the day. Watch for hikers please. If you do check out the end segment by fragrance lake, make sure you trust your brakes and don’t get in over you head. I encounter plenty of big trees down across the trail that would suck to hit.

Trail Ridge Trail
Unassuming, brutal trail with empty promises of flow and rocky technicality. 85% is pushing through brush, cursing the trees, and hike-a-bike ascents. Downhill suggestion on the map is misleading as the variance is so close. Several awesome rock sections for technical navigation, but certainly not worth the effort of the entire route. Stay on DBD and DD.

I don’t know. Maybe i like pain but aside from the mandatory hike a bike there really is only one other section that needs to be pushed otherwise with solid skills and lots of mashing it is all doable. Its not for everyone and that is fine not every trail should be. The best way to put it is the trail is physical.

After the initial terrain, which for an intermediate rider was near-unrideable, I found the route to be very enjoyable.

Super fun trail, lots of technical moves on upper and lower. Keep your speed up to make it over those roots and rocks.

I find the ridge trail to Galen’s step to the connector trail (bypassing the middle section of ridge), followed by hush hush to be a very nice trail, technical and fun and in a beautiful location. Dirt is great. Certainly not a manicured flow trail but it’s definitely worthwhile.

The people who are saying trail "isn't worth it" or is "unridable" are most likely attempting to ride the middle part of the trail, which is indeed unridable and not really intended as part of the downhill mt bike route. It's an up-and-down scramble in there. The upper ridge and lower ridge sections are techy and fun. Good mt biking if you like challenging, technical terrain. Hard, yes, but a lot of us like that. Great stuff! Do skip the middle part, either way. That is not part of the route. Take Galen's Step out, go down the road a bit and get back on via the Ridge Trail Connector. Enjoy.

Ride the upper ridge until Galen's step for the best mountain bike experience. The middle section is unrideable

Not worth riding. It’s a hiking trail. The first few minutes are ok, mostly just tech and tight roots and rocks between tight trees. The last minute or so is ok. The middle absolutely sucks. Multiple unrideable sections interspersed with short (20-30 seconds) periods of mediocre flat pedaling sectors before the next dismount. The kicker is that after this you lose about 1000 feet of elevation on a crushed gravel path back to the parking lot. I’m honestly kind of pissed this trail was recommended to me

If you are just looking for a way back North to Cleater rd, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Feels more like a hiking trail than biking.

This is not a bike trail. It’s a hike trail that you can take your bike for a walk on. Don’t bother, there are much better options.

Lower ridge is a super long sprint to begin with then with out any warning drops in to a full on dh cluster f*ck of roots that have grown over rocks, the trail also sports super blowen out cornnors or no corners at all, super fun trail!
