Trail Big Ring
I often find myself confused as to why this is a Green trail. There are sections with quite a bit of exposure, lots of rocks and roots. It reminds me much more of Brake Through (blue) than Downtown (green). Combine that with the two-way uphill traffic in the late afternoon/early evening and green seems deceptive. A bell can be useful.

I call this the beginner companion to Shotgun as both trails parallel each other and end at the same spot. The experienced riders will like Shotgun and the newer riders will like Big Ring.

All in all, my previous review stands. It's still a pretty easy trail where you can pick up quite a bit of speed if you can corner well as it's pretty twisty. For beginners, I would get pretty confident on Downtown before attempting Big Ring.

Trail Big Ring
There is a lot of exposure for a green trail, but other than that, it is easy and fun.

Great trail. Better than a lot of the blues in the bike park. Some steep pitches going up but all rideable. The downhill sections both ways are fast and flowy. I enjoyed it up and down, plus the view at the top in stunning.

Mellow trail out side the park that we took our trail dog on too. We jumped across the road and took uptown back to the main lodge

Nice, below ride. Only saw one person in the trail on a Friday afternoon. A few parts had some shifty kitty litter. I rode a short travel full suspension but felt like it'd be more fun on a hardtail.

Trail Big Ring
This is a two-way traffic trail, not downhill only.

Trail Big Ring
This trail was recently rerouted around Smooth Operator. The off-camber turn through the lava rocks near Canyon Lodge is gone, as is the really narrow passageway between a huge boulder and a tree. I am slightly surprised this is rated beginner because it is quite bumpy and rocky compared to other Greens, but a ton of fun. This is a beautiful trail and has some mini-features for beginners that want to move up: rock gardens, pavers, berms, some random gaps/rollers. Enjoy the fast downhill on Canyon Blvd back to the shuttle!

Probably one of the quieter rides in Mammoth.

Start at Minaret Vista for a downhill ride. Very sandy in areas. There were a few sketchy sandy downhills with exposure. About 1.5 miles from the Earthquake Fault are two steep and sandy climbs. I will bail onto the snowmobile trail next time to avoid these.
