Trail Alaska
I think my favorite technical climb in Moab is Homer -> Alaska. It's all there, but you have to work for it. And the views at the top are the best reward.

This trail is fantastic. Yeah it's not entirely downhill but it's got great flow, lots of little technical bits and amazing scenery. Super worth it.

Actually enjoyed the climb uphill. Was steady and just put the bike in a low gear and went for it. Not too technical

Great views at the top. Super fun down hill but be ready for some uphill sections. Blue+ level I'd say.

This is a great intermediate trail. It's at the North end of Moab and perfect to hit before heading into town if you're coming in that way. Not too technical with good flow. It's best ridden N to S and even better if you shuttle it and don't have to ride back. If it's your first time to Moab this is a good trail to give you a taste of what's to come.

This trail is silly. It's like somebody got too drunk and grabbed a can of blue spray paint.

I would consider this a “blue plus”. Don’t let the rating keep you from riding it if you’re an intermediate.

This trail was fun in spots and the scenery is very good but it definitely not all down and not all flow. It’s a fairly bone jarring 3 miles or so and that was with my bike totally cushed out.

19 Nov 18. Just crushed it (not really). The uphill was a lot of challenge for me (intermediate?) and particularly for my wife (true beginner)

But gorgeous and the downhill will rock.

Came up to backtrack to the “Stomping Grounds” dino tracks off Alaska.

Much of trail is very easy on nice smooth slickrock. A couple fast flow sections. A little switchy tech too. Got us to Mega Steps.

Trail Dino Flow
There are some blue flowy sections, and numerous but not very difficult rock challenges, at least in the middle third of the trail we did. Fun, should be very doable for intermediates and a good learning opportunity for beginners.

This trail is a hoot to descend! Some very fast flowy sections, small airs. A couple short uphill grunts too. But do it east to west.

Great trail but it’s anything but a flow trail. Plenty of techy features that will slow most blue riders down.

This trailer is just OK. When you get to the top of mega and then want to come down if you think that it will be all downhill but it is not. So that is a little disappointing. And then when you are going downhill it is technical so you can’t really get up any speed anywhere. I would probably pass on riding again

So this trail is quite the climb going. Reserve your energy for on the way down. It was an OK trail. I did not get to go down it. Because I went down the Alaska trail

Heads up, the camping on the left/right side of this road is apparently illegal. On 3/26/18, we had a BLM law enforcement officer shuffle us out of our campsite near the Dino Tracks trailhead. He claimed it was an area controlled by the local land management plan that does not allow dispersed camping. I'd contact BLM before you camp in this area.

Super fun but short DH, similar to Cptn Ahab but faster and less technical

This was my first ride in Moab and maybe my fifth day on a mtn bike. It took me an hr from N to S. Definitely moderate level trail. Very well marked. The ride out on the Jeep rd can be pretty nasty on a windy day like today.

just the old 4x4 access road but useful if you need to bail out on Klondike trails and need to get back to your parking area fast.

One of my favorites as a mid level rider. Complete variety of terrain and doable with a few challenges along the way. Great uphill and downhill work. Some cool cliff scenery at the top.

A Great trail. The scenery is just amazing. Not the toughest trail but so nice to be far out there in peace. The DH is great and easy flowing. Take the time and go seek out the Dino prints (look where the rock cairns to spot the prints).
