Trail Ridgie
Fantastic challenge to climb this one. Finally made it up the very last rooty bit that connects to Pusherman / Swell Hill. I used to think all this stuff wasn't doable until I started challenging myself to climb more and this trail is a pretty perfect climbing challenge. As they recommend you can go from the bottom of Catamount, up Techie, then up this trail and you probably would be pretty tired by the end of that!

Also it's not on TF but look up "Bitches Brew" on the Mad River Riders trail description page because it's one of the most fun downhills around here - more challenging than Race or Ridgie downhill.

Trail Powerline
I love going up the last bit towards swell hill - very much like the old trail that used to be here called Purgatory. It's like a more challenging version of Maple Twist with bigger roots. Otherwise it's fun going up the other steep but less technical bit to get to the Tucker Hill trails. It's a solid connector. Wish the middle bit was a bit more interesting but it's a surprisingly fun trail for being a connector.

Trail Plum Line
Amazing downhill but I prefer to climb so I like the challenge of going up this trail. As my username suggests I do like it a lot. While I do end up walking a fair amount, the workout and challenge of climbing it makes it totally worth it. The more I ride it the more I can climb sections I didn't think I would be able to. There's a ton of variety in this trail from rock gardens, roots, jumps (offshoot trails), very steep switchbacks, flatter more technical bits, etc. If you want a good workout and want to challenge yourself give it a shot in reverse some time.

Trail High Plum
If you can ride the first half of this trail with no problem then good for you. I'm not a super technical rider but it definitely feels the scariest of all trails in this network for that first bit because it's very off-camber, tight, and technical. Last time I was there someone fell off the ledge after the double-tree handlebar check and thankfully didn't get hurt (could have been bad).

BUT there is no better way as of yet to get to the rest of plum line if you so desire. They seem to be building new trails off plum line all the time but it just isn't clear when you finish Pusherman whether to take a left or a right. If you take a left to “plum creek” (whatever that means) you will either need to keep left to take a logging road to Dana Hill Road or keep right to go into an unmaintained insane downhill trail which is worse than high plum. Maybe I just still haven’t found the right route but hey no one is helping mark it that’s for sure.

Anyway if you want to get to the rest of plum line but can't ride the first section of high plum I highly recommend just walking through it instead of taking a left after Pusherman.

Trail Pusherman
A very difficult climb to a pretty nice downhill! Tons of tricky roots on steep sections. Nice twists and turns that are hard! I guess you could call it a hiking trail but it has its own charm. I don't know if I'll ever be able to do the whole climb up similar to cyclone up or even plum line which is exhausting but fun up. A lot of it is doable after enough practice and I'm finding it fun. I really wish there was an easier connection to plum line other than high plum but hey maybe in another life I'll be able to ride that without crying.

Trail Geyers
Geyers is awesome down and up. I have been challenging myself more with technical climbs and this one is harder than going up techie but easier than going up plum line or cyclone. It's totally doable except for the short extremely steep sections (two of them?). I wish there was an alternate climb next to the rock ledge but it's such a short section to walk.

Incredible trail up and down. Wish there were even more old school trails like this one although I’m getting better at plum line and pusherman.

This trail is great. Off camber. Slick rooty downhill. I don't know why you would ride up this when swell hill is right there.

The bottom holds moisture but it's not boggy/swampy.

Not maintained, very swampy even after many days with rain. Downed trees that look like they have been there a while. Do not recommend

The stated profile on this trail is misleading - it has a fairly nasty climb in the beginning (old school, rooty and right up the fall line if that's your thing)! Once at the top its a fun ride down to the intersection with high plumb.
