Trail Manuel Drive
This trail is just plain fun. In fact, if I had a carbon copy of this trail in my backyard I don’t think I would ever leave the house!

Trail Demo Trail
Demo Trail is good and well worth the side trip. Good variety with a fun tech optional segment.

Trail Sand Hog Mountain
What they said above. Well worth the price. It should be noted that climbing at Cuyuna (including on this trail) is easier than most other trail systems. Why? First, because there’s less of it. Second, the pitches never get that steep. I did 90% of the trails and never had to lean forward once and never wished for an easier gear. Third, the trails are on the smooth side and techy uphills aren’t really a thing here. Fourth, there aren’t dozens of tight switchbacks on a specific trail. Cuyuna is easier riding on average, and all this is a testament to the genius of the trail builders. That said, Sand Hog’s ascent will definitely test your endurance, but it could be much worse.

Trail Galloping Goose - North
Great green trail (as most greens at Cuyuna are). Good riding in itself but also acts as the spine of this cluster to get from trail to trail. My one beef with this cluster is that you can’t (that I could figure out; maybe a dirt road is the way) do the East section and then the west section of trails here. Therefore, you have to start with the west section first as Galloping Goose will transfer you west to east. Strange since the trailhead parking lot is east. Again, locals may know how to manage this easier, but I finally took the trail on the south side of the lake to get to the west side.

Trail Haul Road - Entrance
Great trail; really well built, flowy. Don’t forget to take Winze though part way through! (Unless you’re a beginner).

Trail Switchback - South
On the DNR Maps, this is called Galloping Goose.

Trail Switchback - North
The last 1000 ft or so on the east end between switchback-south and dragline is actually two-way - allowing access from Portsmouth Campground.

Trail Switchback - North
Best nang for your buck climb to downhill ratio, love the berms all the way down too, great addition! Only downside is if you choose to stay on Galloping goose you have to go through the horrendous unpumpable rollers

Trail Sand Hog Mountain
Probably the best trail in the main unit, killer of a climb but one heck of a booker on the downhill, probably DH in the main unit.

Trail Haul Road - Entrance
My one complaint is that I love Winze and if you want to do it over again you have to do the whole loops because this is one way, even if they just made the section in between the entrance and exit two way it would help a lot. If your not factoring that into it it’s a good trail.

Trail Sand Hog Mountain
Definitely one of the signature trails at Cuyuna. The climb may be a challenge for beginners but you have a scenic overlook up top, a bench if you want to chill for a second, and a very long, flowy descent by Minnesotan standards. If you’re here I would highly recommend hitting this one. Was my favorite trail there until Winze arrived.

Trail Sand Hog Mountain
What a slag to pay the price. And then 40kph down screaming berms! One of the best runs in Central North America!
