Trail Out There
For those curious: Takes about 20 minutes to reach the trailhead by climbing the Wedge Creek forest service road from the bridge by the highway.

This is a great trail. Rode it the day after two full days of rain, so the roots were pretty challenging, but after a km or two you start to get the hang of it. Not too physically demanding IMO, just tons of technical XC. It’s long enough that by the end I felt like I had levelled up a bit in skill.

Trail Out There
Such a hoot! Running great after the recent rain. Loaded with slabs and rolls, all super manageable with ride arounds on the more difficult features.

Ridden it backwards three times now, maybe itll be smoother with no roots if i ride it the correct way? ????

This might be in my top 5 trails of all time. If you like techy XC it’s got tons of challenging corners and roots and rolls those little 1’ high rock shelves that require a quick pop to get up. Nothing really consequential on the entire trail but the clean the whole thing without dabbing would be a grand feat. The loop up top has got to have the most slabs/km of any trail I’ve ever ridden. At one point you’re riding for maybe an honest 5 or 6 minutes just on smooth granite rock. Rad rad run. I mean, it COULD be even better if there were funds to pave it Wink

Riding the best it ever has. I love this trail! It's as advertised and I have found it is a good barometer of my progression in fitness (esp. core strength) and skills over the years. Gets more fun every year for me.

Rode trail backwards and found it less of a grind and more enjoyable overall. Up Yummy Numby and through the Golden Door. The only thing I'd have done differently would have been taken the Out There descent. One of my favorite rides of the year! Also, great job on the trail maintenance and additional building...So well done!

Exit of the second slab has a big trough developing from heavy braking - it's about 12" wide and 18" deep (roughly the size of a golden retriever, minus the head and fluffy tail). Trail is otherwise holding up very well in this drought. reporter
