Welcome to the Trans San Gabriel, Californias hardest race

WARNING

This event is not for everyone, this is not an off the couch event.

This is a fully self supported event

This event takes place rain or shine

We have selected some of the best single track, double track, fire roads and pavement that the San Gabriel mountains have to offer. We lumped them all together and what do ya know we came up with a race route that is 220 miles and 25k of climbing.

You will enjoy the best views our local mountains have, a couple restaurants and bars too restock on some amenities and maybe even a campsite. This is a set route you will need to follow and there will be a time cutoff of 36 hours, we cant wait forever for you to finish. Like all L.A. Tourist races this is a self supported event , it's up to you to make sure you have what you need to feed yourself, hydrate, navigate, fix any mechanicals, see in the dark, fight off Big Foot if you should come across the creature, and call for help if you should choose to quite. Think of getting a SPOT or GARMIN inreach.

This event will start at 8am on Sept 30, you will have 36hours to complete this route to be added to the finishers page. You must ride the full route exactly, and under your own power, no catching a ride. At the finish we will be checking all finishers gps info to verify completion of the route.

There is no parking at Let's Ride Cyclery, please use the side streets behind the shop to park or make plans to be dropped off and picked up.

This is a fully self supported event, there is no sag vehicle to pick you up and take you home. Have a plan and tell someone.

NO E-Bikes

Rode it 5/16. Yeah the first sluff/sutter wall section is a bit sketchy but not terrible. On the backside just before dropping into the meadow there is a small rockslide across the trail that affects about 10ft of trail at a pinch point where the trail drops down steeply. Then soon after there is a spot where the trail has become ledged across a steep side slope. I got off and walked these two spots as well. Other than that the trail is in great shape with no downed trees. Be aware, the Gab to close the loop is very overgrown with lots of PO.
