Pretty good argument for making this a G5. It’s just as technical, maybe even more so than it’s G5 neighbour Te Ahi Manawa, and overall steeper.

Trail is in mint condition. The trail builders have added a lot of sand to eliminate the puddles and bogs. It has reduced the technicality of the trail but after all the rain we've had recently - you can't tell cos the trail is really dry due to the sand.

A great trail with lots of technical rooty sections to challenge your skills, hats off to the zen masters that can ride it without putting a foot down or getting off to push over an obstacle.

Trail Bush Road
Where Bush road joins Buchanan Road it was very difficult to spot. Rode past it twice before having a really good look and then managed to find it. At this intersection it is a very narrow track. (You couldn’t drive a vehicle up it. It’s very narrow and definitely wouldn’t describe it as a Road! Further up it did widen to an overgrown 4x4 track.

Awesome trail through natives. Three parts, two that flow and mid section more cross country with some nice challenging rooty climbs

The rooty steps get bigger and more gnarly as you make your way down. Very technical

Rode this today while on our way to Shark v Eagle.
Posted as Grade 2 but I would not recommended to anybody who cannot manage grade 3. It is a knarly climb and challenging in places and probably should be a G3 when you looking at Grade 3 description. The track was otherwise in good order

Awesome trail, had heavy rain on Wednesday, rode trail on Sunday and it was mint, not affected at all by the wet weather.

Very wet and lots of mud holes - suggest not riding until it has had a bit of time to dry and probably some maintenance. This is the worst state I have ever seen the trail in, like it has been smashed in the middle of winter

Hard to say if it has issues or if it just a poor trail. It’s a Black trail but only because it’s not really a very good trail. Lots of steep drops on hairpin corners with exposed roots and deeply rutted channels from bike tires. It was rideable but not enjoyable. At some points we wondered if we were actually on a trail as the leaf cover was extensive and there were no other tire tracks. It doesn’t appear to be a popular trail. Unfortunately we took it to exit at Blue Lake otherwise I would not recommend it for any reason. Skip it and you will not regret it. Ride it and you might.
