This course is great for anyone looking for a sampling of everything the full 131 has to offer, with a little less pain and suffering, and a lot more time for post-race beers. You get 10 miles of smooth tarmac to warm up on before hitting the gravel of Coal Mine Road, where the majority of the course’s ~2000 feet of elevation gain are earned. Expect some punchy climbs, beautiful views, and generally decent road conditions as you explore the hills outside Lander. Riders turnaround in Hudson and follow the same route back to Lander.
