Day Pass REQUIRED to ride. All riders MUST check with trail attendant prior to riding.

Planned Race Loop for the upcoming 45NRTH/Cannondale Ontario Fat Bike Race on January 26, 2019 hosted by Substance Projects at the Georgian Nordic Outdoor Activity Centre.

This race course encompasses nordic ski trails at GNOAC, some of which will be ridden in reverse direction compared to the "usual" ski direction. It will be a closed course on race day, but prior to that any riders should check with the trail attendant before riding the course. In an effort to optimize the trail conditions leading up race day, riders will be asked to avoid pre-riding unless the snow conditions are firm.

The course itself features some very interesting terrain, and will provide a suitable challenge for all riders. The terrain is rolling and there are a number of moderate hills in the loop - experienced riders should be able to ride up all of them, but less-strong climbers may have to walk up the steepest parts. The loop is predominantly on backcountry nordic trails, but we are planning to include a section of beautiful singletrack up and over some fantastic pre-Cambrian granite ridges (approximately kms 5-6), followed by a challenging 500m section of serpentine singletrack that will require riders to modulate speed appropriately (smooth=fast).

As always, the route may be modified if unusual weather conditions dictate that parts of it cannot be used safely.

On race day, there will be 100+ youth skiers on the trail system from 0900-1200 for Jackrabbit ski sessions. Therefore, riders are asked to NOT ride between 0900-1200 on race day.
