Seems to be the main way to go. There is another Donnelly connector trail that is further up, but the switchbacks on this side are not as tight.

Trail is good and fast. there are leaves from all over parts of the trail, most likely due to the winds and boar that seem to travel the area. Not too dusty today.

The trail is open.
Super fun decent, not very techy but fast!
Even a few jumps on the sides so watch for them.

The best downhill with some tech in the area. Worth the climb in my opinion.

The top was great and overall better than i has remembered it, but bottom was getting many braking bumps. This is a really fun downhill, not super technical or crazy steep.

My least favorite part of 500watt rip. It is raw and natural which makes it feel great but the decent into grizzly is blown out.

I love this trail, it has that raw remote feeling I look for at Coe. There's no "Tech" at Coe, so sketchy climbs become the challenge.
Primitive and obviously rarely used, I like that. For Analog Bike, only descending from "Anza" would be enjoyable, the steeps on the "Grizzly" side are not climbable. E-bike, either direction. I've only climbed it from "Grizzly". A definite challenge to climb this trail on E-bike and not put a foot down. Steep, loose, switchbacks, so good.

No idea why Trailforks shows this as a climb by default. Definitely do this as a downhill. Some decently tricky terrain make it one of the better trails to ride at Henry Coe.

Note description is wrong, this isn't the first trail out of Hunting Hollow and if you happen to take that other trail your legs will be in for a bit of a shock Smile

Trail Coit Road
I would rate this 3.5 stars, if I could. I do like this fire road and frequently use it as a quick exit route out of the park. The first section of this road enters into a long consistent climb, about 1500 feet on the way into the park. It does get you to and from Pacheco Camp, though I think there are better ways to get there with some single track.

Like @deln78 says, hard to see that it's a trail at all from Anza (or in reverse). So many leaves and pine needles. The first 1000' you don't know it's a trail until crossing a rock bed. To the top of the climb there are a few turns where you can lose the trail.

When the decent starts, it's hard to track the trail. Switch back when you see the water tub and keep a foot ready during the ravine switchbacks. They didn't seem like a good place to fall. I was super happy when the trail ended.

Gets really muddy after rains. Best to avoid in those circumstances.

From the Anza trail side, this trail looks like it's abandoned. Too much debris/disuse to be worth it.

Super fun downhill with some good techy bits (for Henry Coe). Ride this trail if you're in the area.

Nice climb. This is the only "singletrack" in all of Henry Coe that isn't miserably steep to go up.

Thank you state parts for closing one of the only actual fun descents in Henry Coe. This is a true shame; now you just blast down the double track of spike jones where you once had a fun technical singletrack.

This trail is short (leads into more obviously), but it has to be the most fun descent in all of Coe. Natural banked corners the whole way.

A long varied climb from Coit Rd. with only a few difficult areas. Will be hot and dry in the summer but perfect otherwise.

Best CCW due to the rough, long and not so nice section coming down to the trailhead. All the rest of the trail is great with few great wet crossings and fun singletrack.
