short but so sweet!

This little loop from Corn Mill Shoals Parking lot will give ya a little taste of some awesome East Coast Slickrock, don't be fooled by the short mileage This little loop is no joke! It has some awesome views and technical challenges too! Oh, yeah and a little bit of climbing!
Starting from the parking lot, cross the road and take your first trail on the left (sorry :{)
You'll start climbing Longside Trail and bearing left on Twixt Trail to parallel Cadcade Lake Road. Once out on the road cross back to the other side and take a right to climb climb climb up Rock Quarry Road. Do not be tempted to get on the first left trail you see you will miss out on everything!!
At the top of the road you will take a left on Buck Ridge Road and climb climb some more!!
Look left and get on the sweet single track downhill all the way back down to the parking lot, called Micajah Wilkie.

If crossing river, I'd go to the furthest right you can. Not gonna lie, it's very slippery and a bit nerve racking to cross. Crossed it this past weekend. On the right side the rock has a slight upslope you can push against the current very slightly. Probably easier if you keep your shoes on but I'm not a fan of biking with 10lbs 5 10s for the rest of the day

Try this next time: take off your shoes and walk across in your socks...the socks really do a good job of sticking to the rocks. I always bring another pair of socks and change them out after crossing. Just squeeze out the wet pair and stick them in your pack.

Trail Wilkie Trail
Nothing special but fun out and back trail. Some chunky sections at the beginning and end of it.

Lots of leaves down, but still super fun. The big double boulder toward the end is dry and offers plenty of traction.
