This is the toughest & longest option of the AES Picketpost courses. It is a lollipop shaped course following the Arizona Trail south from the Picketpost trailhead down to the Gila Rive. Riders will then ford the river in water ranging anywhere from calf to waist deep water depending on flow. The route continues on a series of jeep roads up out of the Gila River Valey over to the small town of Kelvin. From there it is 37 miles back to Picketpost along the Arizona Trail. There are no re-supply options on route. Water is available either by filtering the Gila River or going slightly off route to the Wilson Trailer Court in Kelvin.

This is truly a backcountry ride experience. Come prepared. GPS is highly recommended.
