CCW Loop from the Kelvin trailhead. Roughly half of this loop is on either graded dirt road or backcountry 2-track/jeep road. There is one very vague section of primitive 2-track linked into the AZT. Follow & trust the .gpx track! Bring a GPS & know how to use it!! The back half of the loop is on the Arizona Trail. Trail can be tricky to follow in spots due to well developed game trails in the area. Keep an eye out of rock cairns along the way and follow the track. There is some hike-a-bike, nothing too long. The payoff? Ripsey ridgeline. Arguably the best ridgeline in the state. Enjoy the 5 1/2 mile descent back to the start.

AES: Ripsey Short '21 is a 34 mile expert race route located near Kelvin Arizona. This mountain bike only route can be used one direction and has a hard overall physical rating. This route includes 3 trails. This route climbs 3,587 ft with a max elevation of 3,660 ft then descends -3,585 ft.
