This is a longer & gnarlier route. Watch out for Mentally Sensitive and Car Wreck, as they can be challenging.

Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park is located closer to the beach in Orange County, which allows for some cooler days but still super fun sends. There are fire roads towards Top of the World and also in the creek that weave through the trees. Most of the trails are a big technical so be cautious, unless you wish to stay only on fire roads. The climbs are steep and the descents are technical, but everything is doable or easy to walk. It’s also a very popular location for hikers, so be cautious while on the trails. On weekends it can get a bit crowded so if you can squeeze in a ride on a weekday you may not have to worry about avoiding so many people.
Make sure to keep an eye out for features and ways to get around them if you're not ready to hit it this time. Be cautious of other riders, hikers, and horses as this area can be busy on peak days or times. Mountain bikers yield to all other trail users.

Detailed Description

Aliso Woods - Advanced Route 2 is a 13 mile popular expert route located near Aliso Viejo California. This mountain bike only route can be used both directions and has a hard overall physical rating. This route includes 6 trails. This route climbs 2,201 ft with a max elevation of 1,001 ft then descends -2,201 ft.

Trail Car Wreck

Intermediate rider and really enjoyed this one till it got to the big rock garden at the end. Psyched myself out and ended up walking it. Shes gonna be a challenge for sure.

Really challenging and very chunky. Not for the faint of heart. I was in over my head but still enjoyed it. A longer travel bike will definitely come in handy here.

Trail Car Wreck

Kind of like the rock garden on Rattlesnake, but Car Wreck is rocks all the way through. Very challenging technical trail with tons of rocks and steep sections.

Trail Cholla

As of June 1, 2021 this is an uphill only trail for bikes. As of this post, Trailforks has this listed as a multi-directional trail. Again, it is an uphill only trail for bikes, multi-directional trail for hikers.

Really steep for pedaling an enduro bike. Should be changed into a proper climbing trail.

the trail is already 10 feet wide in some spots, it doesn't need any more widening. Many people pedal enduro bikes up it with no issue, it is the easiest climb in Aliso.

Like rock it but steeper with bigger rocks. Much more difficult in my opinion. I ride Rockit all the way down, I have to walk some of the parts of Car Wreck.
