High Point

A great alpine trail from the top of the Kanin with a descent of 1800 meter.
It's a cool nature Singletrail with very difficult descents because the trails are not arranged The conditions of the trail can change in periodes.
The trail starts with a steep and rocky hiking trial where not every part is rideable. (If you don't want to ride this part you could use the skipist beside that trail till the italien boarder).
After the first part you get to the middle lift station at the italien boarder (Prevala 2067m), over there you have to go right to slovenia. When you see a small steep gravel trail you are on the correct way. From here everything is rideable... if you have skills for difficult alpine trails Wink !
The first part over there starts with the gravel trail and continues into a stony grass trail. When you reach a high of 1000m the trail continues in the woods.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - The first part of the trail from Prevala pass to Planina Krnica has been deleted from this Trailforks trail map (a high alpine area valley Krnica). Only the forest section from Planina Krnica and downwards is now part of the trail.

Please consider this also - some photos, videos, comments, reports and similar are referring to a high alpine area, now no longer part of the trail!

Very alpine trail with fbulous scenery, at the top extremly loose gravel, alot of rollers and very grassy parts with hidden rocks. You might end up pushing down the bike a big part of it. As such I only recommend it if you are a very good rider, have enough time and the weather is good. But overall its not really a bike trail.

Go for the red trail starting from B station.

Trail is in prime condition. The local boys and gurls have done an excellent job in cleaning up and adding small jumps. You can enter the trail from Kanin B station, just brlow the station is the trailhead. You have to push up about 70 vertical meters, and you will enter the trail in the last part if the black Kanin Alpine trail. From there its pure bliss. At the bottom when you come to the road, there is another amall trail head about 20m down to the right. I don‘t recommend this, as its not built an overgrown plus hard to find. The blue bottom trail is good again.

Absolute scenic ride. Trail itself is nothing special in upper and middle section, lower part is quite flowy. but the view is stunning all the way down and you're all by your own.

Great trail, top section is very loose. Some shorter sections are definitely double black

Beautiful scenery, top part is mostly a path made of bigger rolling stones and switchback, not that interesting. then it gets nicer with really narrow path in the grass, than end up in the forest in more flowy trail with switchbacks.
I would not advise to ride it in the wet because of all the grassy part.
I would recommend to be comfortable riding on gravel and loose stones.

Great trail. But be aware it's high alpine. The firdt 400m in elevation are loose an steep. It takes some momentum and commitment. If you don't mind carrying your bike a couple of times it's woth it. Double black at the top to red in the middle part to blue at the bottom

Hard single trail, but very funny. Sometimes you have to carry your Bike Find the way from Station D: Walk Up the Skipist to to the highest lift. About 400m, 50hm.. Drive down the Skipist in the other Side of the Mountain in north direction down to the next lift. Directly behind the lift the narrow trail Starts in east direction. Enjoy! Follow the single trail a few kilometers until IT ends in a dirt Road at a single House. The trail continues directly behind the House to the right Side. Not easy to find. Follow the path Till bovec.
