Trail Snake Pit
This is a good trail and riders shouldn't be intimidated by the name or grade, it is a blue. It looks like there's been some nice trail maintenance in an area that would take you too close to a gully. It's a fun ride and definitely better than the alternative route.

A good trail considering it was probably a hiking trail to start with, we need more of these in the area. I'm tired of smooth Park City, can we get some good cottonwood trails bill or will that never happen? The area seems to have awesome potential

Trail Mandelbrot
This is a really fun trail, I wasn't expecting a whole lot but I feel like this is undervalued. I'm sure there are Forest service reasons why this area doesn't have more mountain bike trails but it totally should, there's good dirt, granite, great views and access.

Seems like maybe this trail has been widened a bit since I rode it back in 2020. Still though, major no-fall zone.

If you don't know the trail, it's quite difficult to stay on course. It splits off in lots of places so I had to constantly keep checking TF. Other than that it's pretty fun.

Definitely a tough climb, just like all of the fire roads in these mountains. Lol

Definitely requires some solid control, but that's what makes this trail fun!

It's a solid down hill, especially the last section (which is the only section considered remotely double black). It's super sandy in the middle but all of it is rideable with some skill.

Trail Mandelbrot
The name is short for a Mandlebrot set. Google it and you might agree it’s a perfect name for this spectacular trail.

A bit punchy in both directions, but smooth in a crucial ascends. Traverse the Basin’s rocky slopes is epic. Critical areas are well maintained.

Incredible going down, predictable giving you plenty of time to pick the best line.
Going up is for masochists.

Requires finesse and a careful maneuvering on the narrow loose slopey section but lovely under dry conditions. Gets dangerous if wet.

Difficulty depend on on which way you’re riding it. Going downhill is perfectly rideable, some loose sand and a few drops but nothing which deserves red rating. Difficult blue or one diamond.

Definitely brutal climb. Unless you got an e-bike, you will probably be walking some of this. It’s too loose and steep to properly pedal without spinning out. Or maybe you just got monster legs. Go and find out. Catherine pass descent used fun.

There is exposure but it isn’t as extreme as I was expecting based off the description. Fun, short trail

For uphill riders, right before crossing the Cecret Connector Road, stay left. I stayed right around some rocks and ended up on a "fake" trail after crossing the road.

Super fun trail, I wonder if it doesn’t get ridden much bc it’s short? It’s a bit loose a bit techy and a bit flowy, with awesome views. Not really a full on black, but there enough line choices to make it intermediate to lower advanced. To me it’s like the better parts of the crest

Coming down it's a great high country trail, lots of fun and not crazy technical. Coming up, it's a bit of a bear, steep and a couple hike-a-bike sections.

Super fun way down from the pass. Good line of site most of the place in order avoid hikers and others coming up.
