Saliendo del punto mas alto del Bierzo al que se puede acceder por carretera, esta ruta atraviesa los montes Aquilianos por practicamente toda su cordal.
Son 35 km hasta llegar a Ponferrada pasando por Ferradillo
La primera parte es la mas exigente fisica y tecnicamente con subidas y bajadas pasando por el pico de Cabeza de la llegua.
Algun tramo es necesario hacerlo andando, espues de esta primera parte, nos deirjimos direccion pico de la guiana sin llegar a el cojiendo la senda 1906 que nos baja a los pies de los doce apostoles donde cojeremos una pista forestal que nos lleva al alto de Ferradillo en 10km practicamente por curvas de nivel.
Desde ferradillo bajaremos por la yuma hasta llegar a Toral de Merayo donde podremos elejir si rodear el monte por las faldas hasta llegar a Ponferrada o subir al Pajariel por la caldera añadiendo 300 m de desnivel + y una buena bajada a eljir entre las muchas que nos ofrece ete monte.
