This is a self-supported event!! Only the route and suggested start date/time are given. Come prepared to ride in rugged, unforgiving desert/alpine environments.

Follow the Arizona Trail north from the Mexico border to Utah. This route will test your physical and mental toughness. Detours are mandatory when the AZT enters Wilderness areas. This includes portaging your bike across the Grand Canyon. Please note, the bike must be disassembled and the wheels can not touch the ground while below the rim. If you plan on camping, please obtain the necessary permits.
