This is the route that was recommended to me as a favorite way to ride Witchback. This route allows you to go downhill on most of the fun sections.
Park in the Anglers Ridge parking lot. Enter at the sign that says Witchback/White Fawn (about 200' to the left if you are facing the restrooms. Follow the trail west (left) and you will cross Northside Drive. Once you cross over the road take the trail to the right (CCW). Just over a half mile past Northside Drive, you will come to the bottom of a hill where there is a "gravel path" to your right that leads out of the trails. This is the bottom of Heartbreak Hill (which you would now climb if you stayed straight).
This is the intersection you will cross now and will cross again later when you come DOWN Heartbreak Hill. The image above shows what it looks like as you approach it.
Cross over to the left here and climb up Cliffside (The direction and trail name are also on the brown vertical sign). Follow the trail in this direction until you get back to the same intersection. It will be just after descending Heartbreak Hill. Cross over to the RIGHT to now go up Wastewater Hill. After this climb, you will be rewarded with the swoops. The swoops are some really fun rollercoaster-like hills that you can either ride as a reward for all your hard work or bypass by going through the center (boring). You are now back to Northside Drive where you can cross back over and take a left after the guardrail to work back toward the parking area.
