An unmarked, 195-mile section of the developing Atlantic Circuit Trail between the North Carolina state line and Charleston that meanders towards and away from the shoreline. The segment passes through the western edge of Francis Marion National Forest along the way. More than 85 percent of the segment follows roads, some with sidewalks, and some requiring the usage of the road shoulder, but most of the on-road sections are low-stress. This section shows trail users a different side to the Palmetto State, as all but a 300 foot section are distanced from the beach. Trail users will experience vast marshes, coastal forest, and urban and suburban settings, mostly on fairly flat topography, but with the occasional steep climb.

Detailed Description
Atlantic Circuit Trail: North Carolina State Line to Charleston is a 196 mile popular intermediate route located near Charleston South Carolina. This hike primary route can be used both directions and has a hard overall physical rating. This route includes 2 trails. This route climbs 595 ft with a max elevation of 56 ft then descends -641 ft.
