Make sure you have ample water supply and food. Tracks are remote and not often ridden so take caution.
The accredited (IMBA) EPIC is a unique and tough high-country adventure that takes you across Mt Buller, Mt Stirling and beyond. The 46km route has its riders earning every km along the challenging and demanding trail. Starting with Mt Buller fan favourites close to the Village, the route develops into wilderness back country as it goes across Mt Stirling and finishing along the Delatite river. This ride cannot be underestimated by the average mountain biker. Those who undertake the EPIC trail must be self-sufficient and physically prepared to complete the average 6 - 8-hour time along the route. Testing the rider’s perseverance, the final climb to the pinnacle is steep, exposed and agonising. Once riders have accomplished the climb, they are rewarded with an action-packed single-track descent back down to Carters road and along the Delaitite River.
The trail has alternative routes that allows riders to leave the EPIC and take more accessible trails back to spots easily accessible by 2wd.
