This route has been designed for the Bigfoot Adventure Challenge (bigfootadventurechallenge.com) but is great for anyone looking for a multi surface road/trail ride from downtown Redding (Bike Depot or other).

The route starts in Downtown Redding taking you to the Sacramento River Trail and then on paved trails and low volume roads to the Hornbeck Trailhead. From there it is mostly single track along the east side of the Keswick Reservoir (Sac River) to Shasta Dam and then back on rugged BLM managed dirt/gravel roads to Iron Mountain Road. The finish is all paved along road and Sacramento River Trail back to your start.

Detailed Description

BAC - Gravel - Advanced - Keswick Reservoir Loop is a 38 mile popular intermediate route located near Redding California. This mountain bike only route can be used both directions and has a hard overall physical rating. This route includes 8 trails. This route climbs 2,899 ft with a max elevation of 1,101 ft then descends -2,899 ft.
