This route has been designed for the Bigfoot Adventure Challenge (bigfootadventurechallenge.com) but is great for anyone looking for a longer route encompassing near all trail types in the Weaverville Basin. Note that this route is a replacement for the 2023 route due to (1) snow at the top of Sweepstakes and (2) high East Weaver Creek flows in April and May of the Challenge.
As noted above, the route covers most of the basin and ranges from several historic ditch trails, to great trail and road climbs to old fashioned fast narrow downhills to modern flow trails. All in beautiful oak and conifer forests on the edge of the Trinity Alps.
Detailed Description
BAC - MTB - Advanced - Weaverville Basin (Replacement) is a 24 mile popular intermediate route located near Weaverville California. This mountain bike only route can be used one direction and has a hard overall physical rating. This route includes 12 trails. This route climbs 3,703 ft with a max elevation of 3,710 ft then descends -3,702 ft.
