This trail is lame. So long for so little features and it really could be better if there was some thought out into it. It’s just kind of random and a lot of uphill. I really gave it a chance but idk. 100 is not the rating I’d have

Rode New Millennium today for the first time today, what an amazing trail but not for the faint of heart. We walked the two major switchback sections, and a few of the others along the route. The South West section after the last major switchbacks when traveling clockwise is pretty sketch and only walkable where the slides are, I wish I had more tread on my shoes to make the scrambles across easier. One of the slides was very tough to safely cross.
passable on foot.

Lots of mudslides throughout this trail (about 15). About 1/3 are rideable, 3 are a bit treacherous. Significant trail work will be needed in the coming year

Overall- Fun trail with great views. Erosion has created some serious washboard areas and what could be fast and flowy is fairly chunkafied. Would be very difficult on a hardtail IMHO.

The trail offers scenic views of Calabasas so it’s pretty nice. But it’s pretty overgrown at some places and if you not covered from head to toe, you’ll collect some ticks. I was very happy to wear my full face helmet and goggles! Also, if you scared of heights like me, don’t even bother. A lot of exposure on the switchbacks section. No room for mistake. If you fall, you’re going down the cliff!

WATCH OUT! Several of the jumps have entered puberty and doubled in size overnight. They're great, but some of them are BIG!

Ha! Yeah, I was out there yesterday and it seems there is now one large gap on the ridgeline instead of the old, smaller two. Took me by surprise. Thank you for whoever was out there building things up.

Ran into the individuals (riding the opposite direction) responsible for restoring this trail - an incredible restoration it is! Could not thank them enough - their simple response was “glad your enjoying it, have a great ride!” We did - thx guys!!!

Trail could not be in better condition for riding!!!

Trail Bark Park
Unfortunately, Bark Park will now forever be known as the mtb trail that Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crashed into. I used to park at the Calabasas Dog Park and climb Bark Park to New Millennium and cut over to the Las Virgenes Downhill ridge run, down to Mulholland and then back up Las Virgenes to the car. #RIPMamba

So the last little bottom DH section got bulldozed? Did they say what for?

Thanks for your comment. Yes, all the rollers in that last mile got flattened. They left the berms alone thankfully! Two months of erosion control work gone in 60 minutes!! No word as to why they did it. But just in case they're reading this too, I'll post this link to inform the mis-informed that they are rolling grade dips and not jumps. Jumps - see Crankworks for what a jump is. Erosion control - see the USDA/USFS Trail Construction and Maintenance Notebook here:
