This a an epic saturday ride that provides one of the easiest ways to get to the top of Grove Creek without driving around into AF Canyon. It's is still a lot of climbing, but no so much loose shale and hike-a-bike like going up Grove, or straight up Battle. This loop take you on mostly slow climbing singletrack, and the last half of Battle is not as technical, but very steep, so bring your climbing legs.

If you find the ride is to much, the drop down Curly Springs is a fun and drifty descent, and you can opt out of the final push up to Chris Flat by finishing down Battle Creek. The lower half of Battle Creek is really rocky, narrow, steep and fun. There is a very technical waterfall section that recently has gotten pretty spicy because of all the 2023 Spring run-off. Just know that Battle Creek falls is a big hiker destination at the bottom, so expect a lot of hikers on busy days right at the end.
